Why “Giving IT Away” will make you more money in the New Economy!
The Importance and Formula For Creating A Free Online Offer.
Most visitors to your site will not buy on their first visit. Sorry, it’s just a statistical fact. Give yourself a fighting chance to extend the conversation. Don’t fool yourself. There is a good chance site visitors may not happen upon your site EVER again. There are close to a billion sites out there on the internet. Collect information from visitors (an email address at the least) to be able to follow-up.
If site visitors don’t buy on the first visit, there should always be somewhere they can obviously connect and stay connected with you. Visitors feel that their personal contact information is valuable so you need to exchange something of value for it. Give them the information they are looking for and they will appreciate you and value you as an expert. Give them junk and they will associate your expertise to that level.
When people value you and your information, they look forward to hearing from you. You now have their contact information. Go ahead and keep in touch. Your follow-up messages should include more valuable information as well as offers to “take the next step” and purchase your goods and services.
Congratulations you have now given yourself multiple opportunities to make a first sale and also, Cha-Ching, “repeat sales” of your goods and services.
As a side note…… By giving you their email, your prospect has already informed you that they are interested in what you have to offer. They have moved themselves into your sales funnel. They have entered your world freely.
Three Keys To An Effective Free Offer
Free offers can be in many different formats. A report, ebook, video, coupons and many other creative things for digital download. Of course they can also be physical goods but I’m focusing on the digital aspect here.
3 Keys To Creating An Effective Free Offer
- Offer information your visitors are looking for. There is a reason why they came to your site.
To make this more clear…… What type of client are you looking for? Provide that client “type” with valuable information that will establish your expertise and leave them wanting to hear more from you.
2. Give something of “Real” value.
The best free offers are those that visitors come away saying, “I would have paid for that information.”
3. Have an abundance attitude.
Don’t say……. “Well, if they would have paid for it, they should”. Establish yourself as the expert. Give your visitors something they are looking for then lead them to your other related paid goods and services. Surely your full value is not wrapped up in a 7 page report, mini-ebook or video series. Is it? You must be able to give and always have more to offer.
To your abundant success,
